About Our Farms

Raising Cattle & Baling Hay

Get to know all about Z&Z Acres - what we do, our mission, and history.

At Z&Z Acres we feel incredibly blessed that we get to do what we love. We’d love for you to keep updated in Z & Z Acres happenings. For more information, get in touch!

Family Owned & Operated since 1994

Our farming started out when Zach and Zoey Workman were born and Ed and Missi were looking for a supplement to their income to allow Missi to be a stay at home mom. What started out with a few acres and making a few bales of hay has turned into a family owned and operated business, specializing in various types of hay, straw, and raising all natural Angus grass fed beef cattle.

Z & Z FARMS Growing for the Future

Growing our business, we are also expanding our family farms. In 2017 we purchased 120 acres only a mile from our original 25 acre farm. The farm has 2 homes and will be occupied by family members. We are very excited about this expansion and look forward to turning this farm into a working cattle / hay operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of hay do you grow?

We grow mostly timothy, orchard and mixed grass hay, made for horse quality. Our hay is specially conditioned which makes it softer and more palatable.

Is your hay chemical free?

Most of our hay fields are chemical free. Any hay field that is sprayed becomes hay that is stored away from other hay and sold separately.

Is Delivery of hay / straw available?

We deliver our hay / straw typically in 2 - 8 ton quantities.

Are your cattle hormone free?

Yes, our cattle are hormone and antibiotic free, if a cow would need treatment,we treat them but then they are sold separately. We raise approximately 100 beef cow / calf pairs per year. The cattle are fed forages strictly made by our farm only. As well as grazing our pastures.

Is the public allowed to come and see the farms and animals?

Yes, we welcome visitors and love when kids want to visit the farm animals and learn about farming. We just ask for a little notice before visiting due to schedules. You may contact us here on the website.

All Natural Grass Raised Beef Cattle

Without the constant love and total support of our family, none of this would be possible. It really does take a village to raise a family. We thank GOD everyday for our many blessings!
